Dr. Miguel González Mendoza is an Artificial Intelligence researcher at Tecnológico de Monterrey, and has partaken in the program "El Debate" to analyze the impact of the new Artificial Intelligence Regulation approved by the European Parliament on March 13.
As an AI expert and former president of the Mexican Society for Artificial Intelligence, Dr. González Mendoza shared his perspective on this pioneering legislation, which seeks to balance the protection of citizens' rights with the promotion of technological innovation. The regulation, which still needs to be ratified by the Council of the EU, establishes limits and prohibitions on certain uses of artificial intelligence in Europe.
The debate also included the participation of Ulises Cortés, a professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, and addressed the practical implications of this regulation for daily life and the global technology industry.
